we had a nice interview, here are his interesting answers:
1) Tell me about you...
My name is Anderson Mathias, I am 21 years old, I was born in Petropolis, where I grew up for most of my life. In 2005 I moved with my family to Palmas, and thats where I am located until right now!
2) How did you get in love with Vexel Art?
When I found that the meaning of "Vetor" and "vexel" was after one artist from Brazil talked about one drawing that I did. When I saw his drawings and some that connects to that same meaning , I was absolutely in love.
3) Since when have you been drawing Vexels?
Well,that happend when I finnaly got "balls" to use the "Pen tool". hahaha
I always liked to draw, since when I was little. I had an artist in my family. In January of 2006, I was "playing" and I found out that was possible to do a lot of different ways using this tool and graphics program, and I finally tried to draw myself I had nothing better to do at that point. haha
It didn't look very good, But I liked what I did at that moment, It looked beautiful to me!
4) What Software do you use?
I use Photoshop, I tried to use other types of programs, but I worked better with Photoshop. I did some drawings at Illustrator too, but I prefere Photoshop! Usually I've been using Photoshop CS2.
5) do you have a favourite vexel technique/style?
All kinds specially one that the picture looks cleand and beatiful, I get in love. I love cartoons, but its not my type of thing, I rather work making layers, In the blend type, Its where I really get used too.
6) If you can, Can you tell us how to create a piece?
My pieces are made with the Blend from the Illustrator, the only difference, is that the photoshop doesn't have this tool, I have to create layer by layer, working with the opacity of the picture, and I only use the pen tool.
7) How long does it take for you to be done with one piece?
I takes me usually 24 hours of work, it depends of the Photo and my inspiration.
8) What its your new project at this moment?
If I say that I only have one drawing , I am laying haha. I believe that happens with most of the people that draws. But I am still working with the Pirates of the Caribbean
series. I am only missing the Capitan Jack Sparrow.
9) Does you job has anything to do with Vexels?
Yes, My Vexels had to do a lot with me accepting where I work, It was on my resume. Working with Graphic Design in days like today, It's really important. I did a Vexel for the Catholic Church, and the art will be print out with more then 2 meters, Its so incredible working with things that we like!
10) Do you take orders?
Yes, I do, I already did so many arts for so many people, not only Clients from where I live, but international.
11) What are your plans for the future?
Future...I think about so many things! One of them is go to a college about Visual Arts and work with things that i like.
